Thanks for the help - Didn't need to post a question

I did some searching each time I needed assistance.

Basically, how to do everything. Too many questions I asked to write them all here.

Shug's videos. Need I say more???

"Slack ridgeline" ... Done. I moved to trees more spread apart.
WBBB XLC with Whoopie slings and Marlin Spike barely fit on 15' but not so well on 13'. It was fine with the original cinch buckles.

Derek Hansen's Ultimate hang book. Whooo Buddy! A real text book for fun.
And his illustration for the guy line set up for the tarp. Mini biners (From MLD) and a prusik. I used the full line setup.

Down into the 20's tonight, might be a bit cold for my first night. I have it set up, now just need to get insulation in and see. 10° WM sleeping bag as top, and a Yeti as a UQ. I have a Gossamer Gear hammock pad (1/4") long and wide version. (DL hammock)

    Thanks,
    Ken in NC

Always good to see a fellow hanger who's done his homework. Glad you were able to find the answers you were looking for, and good luck with tonight's hang. Whoooo buddy to that!

I just came back in from a test.
    Whooo Buddy!!!

    @warbonnetguy is The Man.
The WBBB XLC is so nice. I easily, almost, got it set right. I can lay into the flat easily enough, and get set.
The Yeti fits SO nice. A little moving it around to get it set, but the videos (Shug) and Warbonnet website did the trick. No cold spots. (Later) My wife said "No Gaps"

I did not bring the WM 10° VersaLite bag out. I was digging in the closet and decided to bring my 25+ year old WM 0° Puma. 9" loft. It's a 3 lb bag.

The Gossamer Gear pad fits nicely. That's good for the feet. It doesn't 'seem' to alter the lay. I can get flat. No wrinkling.

I told my wife, if I don't come back in in about 10-15 minutes, come on out, I must be comfortable. (It's still quite light outside.)
She came out, and climbed the hill above our cabin to the only place i can hang a hammock, other than along side the road (no way man).
I got out of the cozy set up, and she got in. In a couple of minutes, she was set.
She said, now I see this is the best hammock you've had It's a good one and I am so glad you finally found one that you are comfortable in. I asked her if she was comfortable. She said yes.

Looks like I will do the night. Tonight.

    Thanks ALL!!!!
I slept most of the night. I woke up to neighbor dogs, a few hundred yards the other side of the hill, barking A LOT! Probably a bear wandering out of the National Park.
I got up just before sunrise after laying there a bit and being analytical.
    It was 28°F this morning.
Oh, I wore 'cotton' long johns. (Yeah I know), synthetic thick hiking socks, and a fluffy synthetic drawstring Peruvian style beanie.

I could 'dial this in' a bit.

    I can get flat.

There is a bit of a rise down the middle of the foot end to about my calf.
Not bad though, I know I didn't have it when I hung with the cinch buckles, SO, I know it's me.

    I had cold feet.
I think that's from the GG pad maybe not being under the footbox just right.

I occasionally had a cold back.
The UQ shockcord would slide towards the middle and I would have to pull it to the zipper.
That happened 2 (or was it 3) times during the night. Glad I had the GG pad.

    Conclusion.
Position the pad better. Maybe try a small one. I have a half of a ThermaRest closed cell pad I use as a pack frame in my frameless pack.
My set up, right now, is not for the cold below 30°F. If colder, I need a full UQ and use the Top Cover that came with it.
Not be lazy and get my smart wool.
Find trees more then 15' apart.
Relax, have fun next time, it's all good.

Hot Springs hang a few years ago. Some of you may remember I (unsuccessfully) tried the Hennessy there. I brought my home roasted coffee, and had a few old, classic, camp stoves most of you had never seen before..

    Thanks,
    Ken in NC
