Question Ridge Runner for Big Guys

Hello all. I have not been on here for a while. Been busy with work and such and also my girls keep me busy. A 3 year old and 5 month old. Anyways. I have a question for us more robust gentleman here on the forum about the ridge runner.

I am 5' 8" and weigh 233. All my shirts are XL. I have a Blackbird and love it but I really want to get a ridge runner. I need to feed my lust of having different hammocks. You all know how this is.

Any hoo, I am hesitant to pull the trigger on this due to my size and having heard that bridge hammocks are not that great for bigger guys. I was just wondering if any of you more sturdy gentleman like myself have a ridge runner and if you feel you have enough room in them as far as shoulder room and such. I also want to be able to stomach sleep as this is usually how I do at home. Is it really possible to sleep on your stomach in these. I would be getting the 1.7 dbl layer and using a Thermarest pad for insulation.

Thanks for any help you guys can give on this. Appreciate it.

I have some thicker (than me) friends that have tried out my RR and all liked it. Several at about your size. At your specs, you should be fine. The only marginal comment I've heard is that some folks' have elbows that end up resting on the finished edges of the hammock where it curves in. Not 100% ideal, but certainly not worth forgoing the wonder that is the RR.

I'd say go for it. Warbonnet/Brandon have a generous return policy if it doesn't work for you. All you'd be out is the shipping and the time waiting (Brandon's at around a month for fulfillment right now). Small prices to pay for what the potential upside is with this hammock. It is VERY comfortable.
