After I pack up my tarp ropes, I usually have a difficult time distinguishing ropes that are roughly the same size. For example, when I want a 6ft rope, I often end up unpacking one of my 4ft ropes. I wanted a simple way to identify the rope lengths so here's what I did:
Use a permanent marker (contrasting color) to put tick marks or stripes on your rope. For a 4ft length, I use 4 tick marks as follows:
| | | |
If it's a 12ft piece, I use 1 tick mark, followed by 2 tick marks with an entra space btwn the first tick mark and the 2nd two tick marks, like this: | | |
I use a dash for zeros. 20ft would look like this: | | --
100ft: | -- --
