Does black make a good tarp color? I mean, it isn't depressing or anything is it?

I love my black tarp. The sil is so thin that from underneath, it just looks like a dark window tint during the day.

I had a navy blue tarp, and it got really hot underneath. I would guess this won't be a problem outside of the desert.
Blackbishop, do you have a website on making your cattarps?
i've got two walnut brown (at least that's the color name ray way used) silnylon tarps.
before i got the sil & made a tarp w/ it, i was a little concerned about such a dark color, but turned out to be a great color.
like BB said, it's so translucent that it still lets a fair amount of light through, but on a sunny morning when i don't want to get out of the hammock, i'm glad that i have a dark color to shade me from the sun<g>.
dark, translucent colors blend in well w/ their surroundings too. good for stealth.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
