    Newbie with questions

I just put in my order for my first hammock. I ordered the warbonnet blackbird 1.1 double layer and the superfly tarp. I also purchased the carabiners to go with my suspension system ( the straps and buckles ). I was wondering if there is anything else you guys would recommend for this setup? Do I need to purchase anything else to make it work? I can already tell that this 3-4 week waiting period is going to be real tough!!!!

    Hey there......love Gordy's Hi-Hat in Cloquet))))
You will need guy-line for the tarp and some sort of under-insulation for the hammock. Maybe a pad or summer Under Quilt for the hammock.

Good advice above, but yes you will need some type of ridgle line to suspend your tarp and guy lines so you can stake it out. Speaking of which you will also need stakes for your tarp and hammock. That should be all you need to get in the air and covered from above. For your first overnight you will need some form of insulation for the top and bottom. Sleeping bags work great opened up and layed over the top of you. You can use a cheap blue sleeping pad from walmart inbetween the double layer until you decide that you want something more comfortable/compact. And this is how it begins, welcome to your new favorite addiction.

I use kelty triptease for my guylines. A little pricier than braided mason's line, but it really pops at night when your headlamp hits it. Has saved me and my camp mates a couple times from eating dirt.
