I started hanging last summer. I was going on a week scout hiking trip, and I needed a better sleeping arrangement. I just didn’t want to backpack with my 6 person tent! Stumbled across this forum. Wow, has my life changed since then. I have made it a goal in life (yes I have high aspirations) to never sleep on the ground again while camping. So far, so good.
Since coming across this site, the addiction has grown deeper. My wife is starting to hang, all my 4 kids now have hammocks, DIY Whoopie slings for all the family, in the process of helping 17 of my scouts make their own tablecloth hammocks and Whoopie slings. The addiction is….. well….. addicting!
Looking forward to many more nights out in the piney woods!
