    Cool Vario Hammock Stand

i found this last night. The Byer of Maine Vario hammock stand normally sells for around $135 plus shipping, but amazon has it for $24.49 plus $33.32 for shipping! That's over $100 off.

    Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Byer-Maine-Var.../dp/B000MKQ246

Very, very tempting... very tempting indeed.

If I wasn't planning to move in a few months I probably would have pulled the trigger already. The shipping costs are nuts, though!

    that is a great deal

Shipping is $10 more than the actual hammock....ouch. So you are looking at almost $58. Still a good deal though.

That's an excellent price but keep in mind some longer hammocks may require the extension adapter. From the Byer:

Our Vario Hammock Stand offers a unique combination of German engineering and Far East production to deliver a high quality stand of exceptional value.

Made of heavy gauge steel, the powder coated Vario adjusts in both length (121" - 147") and height (47" - 57") to accommodate any size hammock. This telescoping adjustment eliminates the need for unsightly changes at each end. If an extra long hammock is used, we can also provide an extension adapter, increasing the overall hanging length up to 180".

Threaded hand knobs secure all adjustments to complete the rigid hammock stand.

Do you use the extension with yours?

I just bought this at the beginning of last month. You wouldn't believe how hard I'm kicking myself right now. I also got the extension, but found for most of my hammocks, I don't really need it.

That is a super great deal. I too have the extension but have found that it's not needed for any of my hammocks.

I just ordered mine. None of my hammocks will need the extension either. The posts in my living room are just a little past 10' and all my hammocks fit ok. The stock setup for the stand is between approximately 10-12ft. The extension gets it out to around 15 feet. That would be a looong hammock.

I picked up the Pawley Island stand at Bed, Baths and Linens just before they went out of business. Paid $79 for it.

Fits all my hammocks including the AT Hybrid from Travel Hammocks.
