Do you hang your pack from a tree at night?

Here in Indiana we don't much in the way of dangerous critters but racoons and coyotes are curious, I usually put my pack under my hammock with a little bell on it in case something try's to drag it away. Was wondering if people normally hang their packs from limbs?

limbs, yes often, with a small strap or leash. Sometimes though hang it from the hammock suspension.

Same here. I don't like leaving it on the ground. I've been awakened at night many times with the sound of mice scurrying under my hammock. I also witnessed folks who have gotten holes gnawed in their packs or items in the pack. Mice can obviously climb trees but it's less likely they get in your pack hanging on a tree than laying on the ground. Also ticks are more likely to get on your pack on the ground too.

I always hang it from a stub on a tree as long as there's no rain in the forecast.

High in tree, far far away!! Bears, mountain lions, raccoons and all sorts of more than four legged things can be attacked to gear. I all so cover my boot tops with socks to keep out spiders and scorpions. I know it's super unlikely but being awaken by a bear ripping through my gear seems to big a risk to take.

Yep, I bring an extra strap and biner to hang my pack from a limb. If it is rainy, I hang it from my hammock suspension, under the tarp.
With beauty all around you, may you walk.

I don't hang mine. There really isn't anything in my pack to attract critters when I go to sleep. I have my pot, stove, toiletries in my food bag. I keep my food bag hung away from my camp. I have all of my gear pitched.

I have never had a problem with critters messing with my nearly empty bag.

I also think that animals with keen sense of smell can determine the difference between the smell of food and the smell of food previously being in a place so I'm not worried about any residual scents being left on my pack.

Hang mine on a tree next to my hammock. Don't have a lot in it once I set up camp. All Food and trash goes in a bag then hung from a tree limb.

I use an S Carabiner to hook my pack to the tree strap.

Warning: At the last weekend hammock hang, I also put my daypack on the 'biner....by the end of the weekend: lo and behold, I found that a field mouse had eaten the netting in the day pack in order to get the peanut butter that had rubbed off my last power bar. NOTE TO SELF: Put empty power bar wrappings into a plastic bag...not into the net pockets of my packs!
