    No, no possessive, it's a plural. Locally a "hammock" is a variant on the more common "hummock" - a small wooded section of land rising slightly above a surrounding marsh. A hammock is generally a little drier and with richer soil than the peaty "pocosin" (literally a "swamp on a hill") that also may rise slightly above the marsh.

    And by "wooded" it usually means Sand Live Oak (Quercus virginiana germinata) and Southern Red Cedar (Juniperus virginiana silicicola) which are officially considered "trees" but most people from further inland would consider "big shrubs."

    I took my wife Amanda hiking for our Anniversary, March 16th, and she quickly informed me that she would never go hiking with me again. She loved the hammock but not the hiking. You can see her only night so far in my posted pictures.

    Nope - I had this short-notice school in DC so the trip didn't work out. But she's coming to Hot Springs in June, and we'll take another trip somewhere after that...and I'll make her pay up for one missed camping trip!
