HA! Thats a huge tarp,,, Great job.
That is amazing. Hadn't noticed it before. I'm particularly impressed with the off-center ridgeline and how similar in size it is to the one I am getting ready to make, yet, bigger than mine. Amazing!
Nice tarp.... Thats incredible photography!!! What camera are you using? Is that a HDR filter?
Thank you.
Zombie thread. LOL Thanks man.
I've got two of these, one for me and one for my wife, we love them.
It is big but I can rest easy in there when the going gets tough.
Thanks so much. I really like the lean-to asym features, this thing blocks a lot of wind.
Thank you Koolranch, photos with Nikon D600, no HDR just some lightroom adjustments.
Good luck,

Worthwhile indeed. Your original 11x10 rectangle tarp with doors is indeed an attractive design. I've been rediscovering the virtues of "hex-alternative" shapes for hammock tarps recently with my DIY Cat Tangle design, which is 12x10 and has worked out very well for me this year. With the introduction of (72"-75") wide waterproof fabrics like Dutch's Xenon Wide and RBTR's Silpoly XL since you first started this thread, I'm intrigued by the possible application of your original design with these wider fabrics to make an 11x12 rectangle tarp with doors. I made a compact widebody Xenon winter tarp that was 11x12, but the doors achieved full enclosure by folding in flat on the angles ends, so the enclosed footprint is 6x6 (36 sq ft); a Xenon Wide version of your tarp would nearly double the protected footprint at 66 sq ft!
This idea is especially interesting since Xenon Wide is currently on sale for $5 per linear yard...

That's some really cool work and a very cool design. I wouldn't mind seeing a video of this thing fully set up to get a good 360 on it. I love when people do something new. Kudos on the great tarp!
Edit: I didn't realize how old the original post was until I went back through the responses. Still good to see interesting ideas even if this one was older.
