    Dynaglide in Sewn Channel

I know this has been talked about, but not recently. Does anyone have any experience with dynaglide whoopies attached in a sewn channel? I have a new hammock with the dynaglide making a single pass thru the channel and then larksheaded on its way out.
It seems to be secure and makes a tight bundle on the hammock end, so I don't see much issue. The part going thru the channel is the buried part of the eye so it is actually two diameters of the line in the channel. If that makes sense.

I did that on my grand trunk nano 7. I was afraid that it would cut into the fabric so I took the sheathing of some rope I had and ran the dynaglide through it to protect the channel. I've also used the rubber sheathing of electrical wire this way too. Seemed to work fine in both cases and did not add much weight.

That's how all of my hammocks are done and I've had no issues so far. If you're worried you could always loop it through the channel twice.

Cool, and it's a Darien UL we are talking about.

And that just so happens to be one of the hammocks I have. I only have 2 nights in it so far but the other hammocks I have/had made from that material have had no issues with that. I've had issues with the fabric tearing away from the stitches but that's not because of the suspension.

I run Dyna through the channels on nearly every hammock I have, including the ones my kids use and ones I have hung in while napping with my wife. No concern at all about dyna through a channel.

I have dynaglide loops through all the sewn end channels of my hammock for several years now and have had no issues of fraying, tearing or degrading of the material in any sort of way. So it has worked for me.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

My thought is that if you get too thin it will start sawing thru.
Whats wrong with 4-5mm polyester climbers cord? Stuff's good for 800-900lbs and all you need is a loop the size of a golf ball on the end of your hammock.
I would rather sacrifice the couple of grams for the wear and tear on the hammock ends. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the input all. Sounds like I'm good to go so I'm gonna quit worrying and rock it.
