Xacto or single edge razor and a piece of pine backer, usually just a yardstick.
I use a pair of poultry scissors
You wouldn't have a picture and measurements for this 2X4 would you? I've been thinking about going to whoopie slings, reading this thread etc...I'd prefer to make my own.
What else is required to make your own? I've seen plenty of DIY threads and instructions but never found anything that give specific tools....Threading needles etc.
Piece of .020 music wire folded over in half. Threads up through even 2 mil dynamee with no problem to snake lines through.
I use my cutting mat and my rotary wheel fabric cutter.
Slices right thru, nice and clean.
I've found that scissors work best if you loop the line over one of the blades of the scissors and then pull to provide a lot of tension. Cuts easily then.

When I bought some cord from my local sailing supply store a couple of years ago they measured it off and cut it with a hot wire. From then on I always use a hot knife to cut synthetic cord and rope. It seals as it cuts and it's quicker than any other method I know. I use an old kitchen knife over a gas burner to heat it. I use it to cut shock cord too and it never frays.
