what should I use on a budget?

I don't know what I should use for my bottom insulation in my wbbb1.7 D.L. hammock on a budget for less than 20$ and could use some tips

For your budget and based upon your rig I'm thinking a Wally World CCF pad. Granted it's not going to get you down to extreme temps but will be suitable down to around 50 degrees (for most folks) before CBS takes over. YMMV.

It will probably get to 40°F where I'm going but I sleep really warm.
How cold can you go with a cheap Walmart ccf mat?

40 shouldnt be a problem with 1/4" thick ccf.

Poncho Liner Under Quilt. Lots of talk in the DIY section about them. Super easy and around your price range. Much more comfy than a pad.

Army Poncho Liner under quilts are great! And I left a slit open on each side of mine to slide a pad in for extra warmth. My favorite pad to carry that doesn't take up much room in my pack is one of those silver windshield shades. The truck size is preferred by most but I can get away with the car size because I'm small. Don't get the bubble kind, the solid kind is warmer.

I have gotten down to 4*F with a 1" Army Surplus Thermarest and MSS with Bivy cover. I was chilled but survived the night.
I have been using pads for the last 4 years of hammock camping. I now use a 3/4 1" Thermarest with wings by Eagle's Nest, http://www.amazon.com/Eagles-Nest-Ou...ds=hammock+pad. When it gets really cold I just roll over when one side gets chilled.

I used once upon a time a Walmart ccf pad and it worked well and you can use them for many things as you get more gear. Also like Cakes said, I haven't used windshield cover but know a few that has and works very well also. Depending on your size you may want to buy 2, I think you can stay under 20 bucks so you can cut one of the ccf pads down to lay cross ways under your shoulders

Or if windshield covers are cheaper buy a truck one to lay on and a car one for your shoulders.

Dollar Tree stores are selling windshield reflectors, 20" x 54" for a dollar, with reflective mylar bonded to a very thin layer of foam.

Look into using a poncho liner with a windshield reflector as the windscreen.
