A good find, but now more work...

Just scored 3 Army down mummy bags, with liners and covers, 5 bug tents and other Army surplus items off of Craigslist for 60.00.

Now to clean it all and research the forms here to make sure I can convert them the right way. I see several projects in my future. This should get me and 3 kids on a good start to being out fitted. (3 DIY hammocks have been made and practiced making tarps with the big blue ones from HF already)

Any suggestions on what to make? Combination of UQ and TQ or all UQ?
I was think all UQ since we have other sleeping bags etc to use for TQ?

    4 bug nets for sure!

I hope my DIY skills are up to this.

I think underquilts would be nice.

Better get sewing! I think all underquilts is the way to go. Sleeping bags or blankets can always be used on top if car camping until you acquire more materials. Good luck with your projects.

+3 on the UQ, you'll need them first. Great score, and good luck with the DIY... Hope to see you and your family at a hang sometime, showing off your DIY skills.

Thanks for the votes guys. Bubba I agree we are mostly car camping at the moment so extra stuff is not a problem. Thanks for the video Drifter.

I need to make 3 bugnets and 1 more hammock first. Then I can tackle an UQ. Found a couple of threads on converting these last night. So I can start making some plans.
