    Ontario - Frontenac park fishing

I'm hoping to head into Frontenac park this weekend for a little brook trout fishing (open all year!) through the ice. I'll be staying at pod 11 if it all comes together.

I'm definitely staying home if I'm going alone though.

I'll be going in Saturday morning, late and maybe fishing a little Saturday afternoon. May have some friends making a day trip to fish on Sunday

    Anyone interested in joining me?

I'm going in to 11 on Friday night. If you want to come in a night early, we'll have a fire going and some Fireball whiskey to sip. I'm leaving on Saturday, however.

Hike in and set up in the dark with unproven gear in 42km/h winds? sounds like a blast!

I'll check and see what the better half thinks

So... nice warm night to sit around sippin' whisky, then? I probably won't make it friday, but don't be shocked to see me.

One thing I've found very helpful in the cold weather is to have your hammock / underquilt / sleeping bags (topquilts) / hammock sock if you got it, already assembled. All I have to do when I get there is take it out of the duffel, run the straps and hang the whole mess. I can be up in < 1 minute if I have to. The tarp will take a few extra minutes but the less you have to do requiring dexterity (i.e. your fingers), the better.

Sounds like fun! I would have loved to come in to camp/fish for the weekend, but I found out last night that I'm needed at work to put in some OT for a project this weekend. Bummer!

I love Frontenac. I hope the trip goes through!

it's off - everyone has had something come up.

It was kind of last minute - so <shrug>

I'm working with unproven gear, so I'm going to stick closer to home and hang out in my in-laws back 40 tonight.
