    Question ENO Hammock Stand

    Hey guys,

I am in desperate need of an stand that can be adjusted to accommodate my ENO doublenest. I have had many concept ideas and looked around here but none that I can implement myself. I am in college and getting an apartment with some friends next semester and would LOVE to be able to have a hammock in my room to sleep in. The issue I am having is that my room is only 15 ft x 12 ft and most hammock stands are 15 feet in length that I can buy and they're not even portable.

What I need is a hammock stand that is 9-10 ft in length and can break down into parts no longer than 5 ft (because I live 6 hours from my college and only have a car). I've seen turtlelady's stand which is really cool but I dont like the spreader bar. They just seem to ruin the experience for me.

So my question is, has anyone bought a stand that seems built for ENOs? I know my hammock is 9ft4in in length and thats what I built my concepts off of.

Any response would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think he means if the stands are all 15 feel long, you could place the stand diagonal in the 15x12 room

I believe you are correct sir. haha! I could do that but that would make my room built around the stand. I found this stand on other forums http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80251513/# but I cant find an IKEA that has it near me (NC) and I cant find it online!

Looks like the IKEA stand will do the job if you can afford it. You didn't say where you are going to college. If it is east (Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, etc.) you could contact the IKEA store in Charlotte and have it delivered there - pick it up on the way!

I love your ability to assume! I am going to NC State in Raleigh. I was excited to see that there was an IKEA in Charlotte because I would be able to pick it up on the way but the site says they don't have it in stock but good thinking on asking to have it shipped there! Its worth a call at least! Thanks

I've been using the IKEA hammock stand for about a month now, full time. I found that for me the best lay was attaching the hammock directly to the stand from the loops. No suspension line. There is quite a bit of flex with the stand (almost 7 inches), so while it looks to tight initially, once you're in the hammock and the stand flexes inward the lay becomes just about right.

Thanks for the reply! What hammock have you been using? Sorry if I can find this answer without asking
