Hiking the seabed

The low tide gives hikers only 5 hours before the water returns. To cross the seabed from the mainland to the Island of Ameland. By way of exception I left my hammock at home

Haven't seen a hike like that before, looks fun, muddy, but fun.
I might have gotten a little bit nervous after seeing the large rescue rope on the back of the pack though.
Did anybody lose any shoes in the deep muck?

@ jwright: All hikers are usually well prepared. Shoes and gear were checked by guides. The guides are well trained. And they are always in touch with emergency services. For the first 2 miles the hike is parallel to the coastline. This gives the guides the opportunity to check the physical conditions and the gear of the hikers in the mud. Before the point of no-return. Sometimes the ropes are needed when crossing rapid waterflows in fairways. The wooden sticks are also used to bear stretchers in case of emergency.
