Back in the Hammock Again. In Maine.

Took awhile to get everything organized after our arrival in Maine for the summer. We had some plumbing repairs to do in the shed but we still had water available. Was almost a week before I was able to scope out a site and hang the hammock. The last 3 nights have been a joy in the hammock but after missing two years I had forgotten some of the differences associated with summer in Maine. Like the little mosquitos that leave you itching for days after a bite, or the 4:30 am sunrise with all the birds welcoming in the new day. Then there are the loudmouth Red Squirrels that seem to be indignant about me borrowing their tree. But to spend the second night back in the hammock with temps in the mid 40's made everything worth while. Did you hear that Florida Gang? Temps in the 40's! Have looked over the property and I'm looking forward to getting some of the Maine and New England members together for a little informal hang.

Glad you are off the road and set-up. Didn't catch that about the temp...did you say 80's at night? Thought so...

Woke this morning to a new experience! Rain on the tarp. Two years of hanging and never rained on until today. Glad I was under the new Tadpole and not the old DIY. Had some concerns about the Tadpole as it is 10" narrower than the DIY but coverage was excellent. Just laid there watching the droplets converge and flow to the edge of the tarp, almost mesmerizing. Had the tarp in porch mode to watch the birds at the feeder so I did have to adjust the poles some. Oh yeah, the temps have climbed into the 50's at night. Will share some pic's of my hammock room when the rain stops.

2 pic's of the summer sleeping quarters. Next my bird feeder, hard to really complain about their racket when you're pulling them in with food. Last an overall view of the camp. My hammock is just visible at the rear of the fifth wheel.
