I'm really sorry I missed the group buy on this...the material looks like something I'd enjoy playing with. I already had a few ideas in mind.
Looking forward to the next group buy (please, oh please!), and seeing what folks make with theirs!

Have had some more chances to use the i.d.i.gear poncho.
Single layer of Insultex.
Needed both insulation and water protection on my morning hike with my Dixon Roller Pack a day or so back.
Settled on the i.d.gear poncho. I really like the poncho with the roller pack since I can keep the poncho on while I put on the roller pack harness and take it off. I stay warm and dry the whole time and the poncho also keeps the stuff dry I have lashed to the top of the frame near the harness.
The i.d.i.gear poncho is a single layer of Insultex. The temperature when I started my daily 2 mile hike was 34*F and still 34*F when I got back. Light breeze and intermittent rain and sleet. I was wearing jeans, a cotton tee and a light flannel shirt.
The single layer of Insultex in the poncho kept me warm. I wasn't expecting to stay as warm as I did since the poncho is open on the sides and a light breeze kept sneaking up from the bottom and in the sides occasionally. I didn't overheat, but I wasn't even the least bit chilly. Very comfortable.
Gotta say that the Insultex does work for me when it is worn loosely in the poncho.
