I have a cloudburst tarp for my ridgerunner--------I asked the same question, and was told that due to the type of ridgeline seam Branden uses, no seam sealing required! I'm assuming the superfly is the same?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

Yeah the RL does not need to be sealed. The side panel pulls are not sealed so you may want to do those. If you don't seal them any water that does come through will just roll down the inside of the tarp away from your hammock. Permatex flowable silicone used for windshields available in automotive stores is a good product. It gets into the seam holes well and I find it easier to apply than Silnet. Many people here use it.

I found that a bit of water weeps through at the pull outs, but as mentioned, it just rolls down the sides and I've never been wet because of it. The ridgeline is good to go. Great choice on tarps....the Superfly is awesome!

As all have said, no. My pull outs also weep a bit. I DID put some seam-sealer on them. Just because.....
Mine kept me, my WBBB, all my gear (well, half of it, half was in the water-dry bag from the canoe) dry a month ago when that storm that did so much damage in Moore Oklahoma, then moved over our campsite in Arkansas Buffalo River. It did condense moisture up under it, after about 9 hours of POUNDING rain.

Lot of folks do not seal the pullouts ... I did on my SF because I'm prone to put it in the porch mode and well it makes more sense to me and my use to seal them. Ridge line has not been sealed and has never leaked AND it's been in two major storms.

I HIGHLY recommend using the Permatex 81730 Flowable Silicone Windshield and Glass Sealer ... works exceptionally well, it's cheap and is easier to work with IMHO.
