    Gear shakedown for any interested

Leaving this morning on my SOBO AT Thru-Hike. Couldn't be more excited and nervous. Here's my gear run through and a few final words before I'm MIA for the next 6 months.

Good Luck with your trip. I'm guessing that you will not be posting any progress reports. If you can post some when you hit PA I may be able to deliver some trail magic. I met up with a neighbor from when I was a kid who is currently NOBO (say hi to PhysEd for me when you pass him.) We figured that we hadn't seen each other in 35 years). I loaded up the pack and hiked 2 miles in to a shelter with beer, homemade chocolate chip cookies, chips and salsa (his requests) and delivered them to him and all the other through hikers. (I knew there was a good reason to hold on to the Red Cloud)

I am normally on some portion of the AT in PA with my scout troop in the fall; maybe we will cross paths.

    Have a great trip,
    Doug - aka Doogie
