If it's gonna be above 65 overnight, I don't use any bottom insulation. The hammock by itself is a great way to stay cool. Stay cool.
You're never lost if you don't care where you are.

Not sure if you're asking about insulation or the hammock itself.
For hammocks either nylon or polyester will work fine for a hammock as long as it isn't treated material.
As for insulation, if Georgia summers are anything like what I experienced in Florida during summer I don't think you'll need any.

billn, first off, welcome to HF from another Ball Ground hanger. Second, all last summer I slept in my hammock outdoors, and I had a make do top quilt that was once a polyester fill sleeping bag. I used no under quilt, and actually laid on the top cover. With the bug net zipped up it was pretty comfortable. Around 5:00 am I might get a bit cool and cover my legs, good to go for a few more hours. Give me a pm and maybe we can yak a while.

I have found that the poncho liner is great for summer. Large enough to get underneath for early AM coolness. Will not get hot like other material ,ie, your blanket. And there are no dumb questions. Also a friendly welcome to hanging and HF. I am a Ball Ground native by the way. Flat Bottom Road when it was a dirt road as well as the Free Home road. Yeah, I am getting deep into senior years. Check out Old4Hats. A ton of information there.
