    correct terminology?

Ok, ok, start shaking your head at the newbie . What is the correct way to word the action of hammock camping? As in, "This weekend my family went camping (in hammocks)."

    hammock + camping = hammock camping ?
    hammock + camping = hammocking ?
    hammock + camping = hanging ?

    Thanks!

    I don't define the activity beyond "camping/hiking".
Only when the discussion turns to gear do hammocks get brought into the mix. Usually results in a bunny trail about 20 miles long.
    Trust nobody!

I call it hammock camping, but then I started thinking about it and I hardly ever camp without hiking. Hammock hiking? Doesn't make a lot of sense (except maybe here).

I'll just make this worse and say that I refer to it as "hammock camping," and "hammocking." And sometimes..."hanging."

Hammock camping. It is fundamentally different from traditional camping, the rules are different and different equipment is used, and thus should be differentiated.

    Vis:

First, there was baseball. Then there came a game that is nearly identical to that game and is played on the same field, but has some radically different rules and equipment. It is called softball.

Hammock camping is, therefore, analgous to softball.

For those who really know their stuff, it's Hammockcising, kind of like this, but better.
