Clove hitch to the stake. I tie a taught line hitch on the tarp end so that I can adjust the line without moving the stake OR getting out from under the tarp if the weather is bad. I'm not sure if I stole this method from Caveman or someone else, but I really like it.
I have taut line hitched all the guy lines on my superfly, I run the line to where I want it, set the stake, wrap it three times, and then half-hitch it snug to the stake. Then I adjust the tension on the line as needed. When it's time to go, I always pull my stake FIRST so I don't forget it, undo the half hitch and wraps and drop the stake into a little tyvek bag I made for them I keep in my pocket. The lines get wrapped up into the tarp, and snakeskins secure all. I then put the bag with the stakes DEEP into the snakeskin that is overlapping. Then it all gets taken down, rolled up, and put in my pack.
I have been using Brandon (Warbonnet) method from his tarp setup videos. MSR Groundhog stake around twice and it holds under tension. Once I am happy lock off with halfhitch.

Saw this in a video somewhere around here and was really impressed.
I've attached prussic loops to all my guy out points. I have a length of no-tangle line with a loop in one end. The loop is for the stake or root or whatnot. The rest of the line runs up, through the prussic knot through the guy loop and out. I can grab that loose end and snug it up and when I release the Prussic knot holds the tension.
Really fast adjustments, and I never have to tie or re-tie a knot.
+ 1 to tautline. I also rotate in trucker's hitch. Or, if the stake is fairly close to the tarp, I often use Andrew Skurka's method here:
