Just got back from a 12+ hike on the AT with a buddy of mine to kick off spring break. We both took our hammocks, but we both had make make shift tarps...his was a large rain fly from an old tent that worked wonders. Mine was made out of two ponchos....the A frame idea I had failed, so the second and third nights I perfected a different style. Sorry I do not have any pictures of my tarp set up but here are some pictures of our hammocks. I gotta say, once I got used to the hammock I slept great, but the first night, I only got about 2 hours of sleep. This was mostly due to the fact that my tarp sucked and the wind was killing me. But man, sleeping in the hammock was awesome.
