    Lightweight Underquilt for Summer?

So summer is here, and I'm thinking of DIY for a light weight quilt. Maybe not light in packable weight, but light as in temperature range, maybe down to the 60s.
I was in a fabric store today and saw some fleece on sale for half price. A couple of yards of that, sandwiched between two layers of m50 should get me into the 60s, while offering some wind and bug protection for my back, I think.

Opinions? I made the synthetic KAQ here from climashield, which is good down to the 40s, but I want something a little more bare minimum for the summer, just enough to keep the breeze from sapping away my body heat, and the skeeters from poking me in the back.

If you are using fleece, is the m50 needed? Would a layer or two of fleece work just as well by itself?

We have a number of single and double layer fleece "throws" that are great for winter evenings when the house is in the 60's and they have no coverings.

I think a fleece throw would be just fine. Thats what I would do if I hadn't bought a 50deg tq.

Dehoja has a pretty good primer on this exact topic on his site over at:

It has a breakdown of available options for purchase and plans/materials for a few DIY approaches.

I was thinking fleece and m50 for the under quilt. Fleece for warmth and m50 for water and wind protection. I would think fleece by itself might pick up dirt and leaves and misty rain that m50 might deflect.
