    Hello from Ontario

I've been an off and on hanger for awhile starting with a HH Backpacker Ultralight (before they made them asymmetrical) and just last year got back into using hammocks big time, thanks to Hammock Forums.

I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge shared by the members here and the willingness to share it. Thank you to everyone for what you've taught me.

I just finished an 8 week hike on the A.T. using a WBBB with a Tadpole tarp and HG insulation. The equipment worked flawlessly. I was surprised at how many hikers were using hammocks but didn't know about HF. I pointed them all to this forum.

I hope to meet some of you at various hangs if possible.

    Cheers,
    Peter

Hello from SW ON! What section of the A.T. did you do in the 8 weeks?

Hi Bubba. I started at Springer and had enough time I thought for a thru-hike. Several factors conspired to get me off the trail sooner, so I was thinking I'd get as far as Harper's Ferry, but then physical issues forced me off earlier. I hiked about 575 miles. My wife helped me keep a record of the journey, if you're interested.

Hey gronk, welcome aboard . My wife and I hiked a small section of the AT at the GA/NC border earlier in May and are currently planning on a thru for next year so I'm really looking forward to reading your blog.

Thanks, L84toff. I found GA very difficult probably because it was the beginning of the trip and I hadn't yet found my hiking legs. In retrospect, though, it was beautiful and I enjoyed that part of the hike quite a bit.
