    Kid's indoor hang?

I've been asked by a couple of parents about hanging inside. Their 11 yr old (5' tall & approx 85#) wants a hammock in his room.

What's the ideal size for someone this small? Suggestions on how to hang to make sure this is what he wants before the parents start reinforcing everything to hang a hammock permenantly.

I'll search around in the meantime.

    Thanks!

One of the Grand Trunk ultralights would be good. It's on the smaller side and pretty cheap too.

What did you use for mounting? What type of suspension are you using?

3/8 lags dead in the middle of studs
The lags are 4" long and have an unthreaded section(to protect the whoopie)
I smoothed out the edges of a washer and put that on the lag first.
    Home made whoopies over that
I drilled tiny 3/64 holes to be sure I was in the center of the stud

The pics show the crappy original suspension that was removed as soon as I made whoopies

Any chance of getting a pic of the wall where the lags mount?

I used to hang in the early 80's as a kid... 3/8" lag-eyes drilled and screwed into the top plate... ran the room diagonally. Never had any issues, even with the GF in the hammock with me.

    Kid's indoor hang?

You'll be amazed how much bigger a bedroom is with no bed in it.

My son has been hanging in his room for about a year now. He has used a Grand Trunk Ultralight, Grand trunk Double and is now sleeping in a ENO Double. He is 5'3. All slept good and he swaps them out randomly.

    Very Cool!

Last year I made my boys some elevated beds and a couple of months ago as i was making their hammocks they installed them on the posts of their beds and have been sleeping under their beds.

I now have to make two more since these two have been assigned as camping hammocks.
