Weasel & I are planning on coming, unless his job schedule stops it. I'm looking forward to it, since I've done some pretty major gear changes since my last run out. Theoretically, I should still be capable of 11 miles/day.
It is not my intention to break camp and walk the complete 22 miles to camp along the loop. there doesn't seem to be any good places to camp for a group as it is mostly some road walking and prairie. Of course everyone can do as they please, but I figured people might want to stretch their legs by either walking out and back on Saturday and Sunday in one direction or another but then come back to camp for dinner and more hang time. Hairbear could no doubt do the loop in a day!
So if Mamma wants to come and hang, we will be within 50 feet of the cars.

Great, now we are rocking and rolling (you and Hairbear can do the entire loop!)

I might be able to make this one; traveling on business right now but I'm back in the states next week and can check with the family and plan. I haven't been in the woods all summer and it's killing me! My last hike was a long hard wet cold hike and the time of my life!

    I'm suffering withdrawals.

Here's something to consider. I spent the other day driving through Austria, through the foothills of the Alps. Any of you guys would understand that the landscape was beautiful and made me think only of hiking and hanging a hammock. When I shared that with my colleagues they looked at me with genuiene shock and said "oh my, you can't do that here". I asked them what they meant, thinking they miss-understood me. But they explained that you can't really primitive camp anywhere in Austria! It's amazing, some of the most beautiful woods and hills I've ever seen and you simply aren't allowed to camp anywhere unless you personally know the owner. In their national parks the idea is to keep people out to preserve the woods.

So, we may think that our old Missouri woods aren't much my friends but they really are!!

I was hoping you could make it,now the rest of the group can step up.
a good central location for a mass gathering of all missouri hangers.
The ticks are fewer now,the colors of fall are here, cooler nights, lower humidity, and the skeeters are gone.
    Smell the bacon cooking?
Step right up to the fire and have a laugh with friends.

Question...does anyone know off the top of their heads if the government shutdown might impact this?

I got a PM from another HF member asking me about alternatives to Woodridge...which, since it's supported by the Corps of Engineers, has apparently been caught up by this...which makes me ask if anyone knows who maintains this park?
