    dream setup?

Hey, I was curious as to how many people here actually have their dream setup? and if you don't what's missing from it? There's really no purpose to this thread except for bragging....sooo, let's see um!

I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone with their "dream setup". From what I've seen, it's not that people here don't like their equipment, everyone just wants to try out everything, so they are constantly switching out gear and trying out new things. Then you have winter/spring/summer set-ups, luxury vs ultralight. I don't think I'll ever find my "dream setup" but I'm positive I will eventually have near-perfect set-ups for multiple occasions! I dunno, though, Silvrsurfr might have the dream set-up with his cuben collection

I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

That 'bout sums it up for me.

I have a set up that works well but WB, Hammock Gear, etal keep designing new stuff. Then there is all that high speed low drag Dutch gear that keeps talking to my experimenter side. Dang them.

    dream setup?

My dream is always changing like people have already mentioned, but for the most part I think I have my dream setup! It has been a long time coming, and I have many earlier setups that are collecting dust in the process of getting this, but here it is!

Bias WW with a 56" width and knotty mods, 6ft straps with Dutch clips and carbon toggles, whoopies with whoopie hooks, HG 20* tq & uq, DIY tulle bug net, Goose Feet down hood. I have never slept better in the outdoors and I couldn't be happier with the vendors who made me this great gear!

Ok. I'll actually give it a try. Something tells me I'm going to eventually regret this

Custom Sgt Rock created and perfected CF Ghost Hammock, Dutch quilthook and UCR suspension bling included of course. Custom TED Nanoseeum bugnet.

HG CF Winter Palace - Why not the entire palace with doors, when it weights so little? Mountaingoat custom skins. Once again why not?

Insulation is a bit tougher, but not much. Lets custom make all of it. Let me have some Argon fabric, 900 FP down, and since Lee isn't making quilts anymore, Undergroundquilts.com can provide all the shells, needed advice, help and even full custom work, if I can't figure it out.

Lets go with full sets of Summer, 3 Season, and Deep Winter temp ratings. Make the UQ's with draft collars, set up for Dutchhooks, and perfectly asym for my particular lay. The TQ's should all be wearable Snivler clones.

    Don't forget!

The JRB Down Sleeves and a nice set of AHE Flamethrower Booties. Meh why not, Down pillow, and Blackrock down beanie. All insulation right?

    I think I have mine....

    * Warbonnet Blackbird XLC dbl. layer 1.7
    * Underground Quilts custom 30-deg. underquilt (long, extra width, overstuff)
    * Jacks R Better Sierra Sniveler long top quilt
    * Warbonnet Superfly tarp (camo)

Maybe I'll try a Cuben fiber tarp and/or a bridge-type hammock someday, but I have no real desire to change at the moment.

    Take it easy,
    desmobob
