    What do you carry?

How many feet of guy line do you typically carry? How many stakes do you typically carry? I just had my first hang the past two nights and I definitely didn't bring enough guy line. I was using the warbonnet superfly and had four stakes with 25' of zing it.

My set up is for a Tadpole and I carry a Grizz Beak depending on weather. For my Tadpole I have 4 8' guy lines from Dutch with tensioners. I carry 4 stakes if no beak, 8 if I bring a beak.

    Good luck,

    What do you carry?

I have the superfly without the doors and I have 8 feet on each corner and 12 on each end of the ridge line. As part of my kit I always have 8 stakes and an extra 50 of both braided mason line and 50 zing it. I usually have some lengths of para cord stuffed in here and there.

all that line gets heavy I'm using the hammock sock year around now. the tarp portion needs two guylines, 4 feet each and two stakes. I do carry 2 extra stakes and use them for marlin spike hitch if needed.

    Stop tempting me!

No stakes, 8 guy lines attached to the tarp (total weight 40 grams, each about 2.5 mtr [8 footish])

Playing around with the old prussik loops on my hammock suspension for rigging my tarp, other wise a 37 gram, 10 mtr ridgeline for tarp.

Depends on the tarp. For 3 season, most of the time, I have my Tadpole. So four guy lines, and four stakes. With my Superfly, many more. I can get away with 6 stakes, by staking the doors to the opposite corner stakes, and using one on each side for the side pull-outs. If I am not backpacking, then I carry extra stakes, so I can have more options for opening the doors. My guy lines all stay on my tarps, so no worries of forgetting them, and worst case, I can find trail sticks and make extra stakes, which I have done. I was testing a set up in the back woods, brought 4 stakes from the house, and didn't feel like walking all the way back inside, so I made a couple of extras with the sticks...........RR

You will need at least 100'.

I tie everything with a loop created by tying a loop at one end, going around the tent stake/tree, and tying a slipped half hitch onto the end loop. If you do it that way, you'll need about 120'. The knots and adjustments are easier at the expense of extra cordage.
