The poles at the foot end of my NX250 won't stay up when the weather shield and bug screen are down. Is this normal? I'm replacing those poles with something more stout and thinging maybe i should make a bit longer to put my shape into it. Not sure that would work though.
Had that happen with my nx250 when no netting, it was no problem for me it did not get in the way and when I zipped up the netting it was in place. I am new to this and was wondering if my hammock is hung too loose?

That is normal if the weather shield and net are stowed. I have a ridge line on my NX250, connected to the little loop at the center of the hood, a short bit of it is shock cord to provide give. This works pretty good, provides a line to hang my glasses on, or a small fan.

On a couple of mine I have very light elastic tied between the loops at the top of the hood and mitten hooks I sewed into the center of the end-channel. On others there a mix of light elastic and thin cord and a prussic loop that allows me to adjust the length and therefor the tension pulling the hood hoops back toward the ends of the hammock.
For control of the hoods into an always-vertical position, old4hats might have had the cordage run as an auxiliary ridge-line clear across the body of the hammock, from end to end. Clark includes grosgrain loops at the tops of the center sleeve for the hoops, But, I'd still advise those $.25 plastic mitten hooks sewn to the center tops of the channels.
Note that the Clark NX system works fine without the rods / hoops inserted at the foot end. Also, note that you will probably be hanging your NX tighter than the way that will give most comfort if, forgetting about these accessory cords, you hang it so tight that the netting or weather-shield looks great without you in the hammock. IMO, more sag than that is more comfortable.

I ca make pictures, I just can't post them. Find the small loop at the top center of each hood. Using mitten hooks, tie a small diameter cord to the mitten hooks. To avoid over tensioning, I use a short piece of shock cord tied in the line. Just guessing here, but if the total length is 80 inches, then let 10 inches be shock cord. Relax, play with it, its fun.
I did this with my set up but used mini biner that I had, don't have any shock cord, have to get some. Thanks for the idea.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Yes, they do work very well. Just a little heavier due to the brass fittings.
