Thanks mate. I was more looking for the webbing alone, made in Australia and able to be purchased in bulk. I have found one site that looks ok - AusWebbing

Heya,
I emailed the fellas at http://http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/
And was advised to make a list up and they would quote me a price. Even if the postage is heaps, the sheer fact I can get everything at one place and at really good prices means I will probably go that way.
Cheers
BTW MR Ploppy the PWS on Maria island didn't say anything about my hammock rig. My mate was asked how many tents we had regarding campsite fees...well they did say tents
Maybe give this mob a call?

This ones a long shot but does anyone know who makes 200 gsm waterproof/resistant canvas preferably n a ripstop? I made one frame bag for my bike but want to make another.
Heya Mr P,
I'm gonna buy 1 of those precut taffeta blanks and some of the 1.6 material for a single layer winter hammock. I'm thinking I don't need 2 layers or mossie netting for winter. So that's 2 hammocks worth. I have a whoopie set and although its pretty cool I think I will buy the webbing suspension set from Dutchware. I find the webbing setup less fiddly than the whoopies.
I will put some Photos up of Maria island in my gallery, I didn't take enough photos to do a trip report. That Bishop and Clerk walk is awesome and tiring
Cheers
Thanks mate. I ended up getting some 25mm seatbelt webbing from AusWebbing so will report back what it is like.
For the canvas I would try a local canvas place - where are you located? Or infront camping sometimes sell canvas squares, though not sure it is ripstop.
Cool. I got some crinkle taffeta off ebay for pretty cheap. Looking forward to making a hammock out of this stuff.
I am making up some webbing suspension as well, and have bought a few cinch buckles from Dutch, some local webbing, and just make up my own continuous loops.
We will have to get together for a Tassie DIY hang one day.
Hi all,
I have found an Australian rope manufacturer (Whittam Rope) who makes 2.5mm and 3mm polyurethane coated spectra/dyneema fibre rope. It is considerably cheaper than the Ocean 12, though has less of a load rating. I am in discussions to see if I can get some and test it out.
I made some soft shackles the other night out of the Ocean 12 and used them to attach my whoopies to the continuous loop of my hammock. I really like these shackles and will give them a full test tonight as it is sleep in the hammock night at my house .
Hey Mr P.
Did you see there winch rope 2.5mm rated to 500kg's?

Let me know how you go its great you found aussie made stuff.
If you wind up buying a bit i might jump in on a buy with you.
Cheers
