First use of UQ-Mixed results and a question

So...bought an Outdoor Wilderness Logics full length UQ (Owl...go figure). Used it for the first time this weekend.

I'm attaching it to my Hennessy Explorer Deluxe.

Specifically, it looked to me like it was setting just fine against the underside of the hammock when I attached the suspension to the mitten clips that are normally used for the HHSS.

Both nights when I used it, I made sure it was adjusted under me, and it seemed to work fine.

But, both nights, I woke up in the middle of the night to find the UQ had somehow managed to get pushed out from underneath the hammock and was on the backside of the hammock.

Now, I toss and turn a lot, so I'm sure that's part of it. But has anyone else had this kind of issue, and thoughts on what might cause it?

I use a 3/4 UQ and found if I don't make sure and have the shock cord pulled over my feet the quilt wants to slide under me. I've never had it completely end up on the backside of the hammock, but that may be because I've caught it before it had a chance.

Maybe attaching shock cord to the sides and clipping them on your ridgeline will keep the quilt from sneaking around on you?

Happens to me now and then as well. I just got some Dutch quilt hooks and hope that this will not only help getting a better seal, but also to prevent slippage.

I too have a HH and 3/4 UQ. I sewed little loops onto the sides of the UQ and run the side stabilizer lines through them. Seems to keep it pretty secure, although in hindsight I think a simple button and button hole might be better (if I could sew a button hole).

how about sew the ends of a thin piece of string to and use the string as a button hole?

In one of Shug's videos (I think) he shows how he makes sure the elastic at the foot end is on top of his feet. Following that tip, I have never had a wandering UQ.
