Whoopies to tree huggers?

Probably a stupid question, but I really only used the WB webbing suspension and the all-in-one Opie suspension: how do you set up the suspension that comes with the RoamingGnome or the DangerBird? The whoopies are attached to the hammock - no problems there. I have got the tree huggers (one end with a loop) and carabiners. But how do the whoopies attach to the webbing? Just take a stick and use it as toggle? Or is there a neat trick? If somebody has photos of the Dream Hammock suspension in action that would be great. Thanks!

That's what I thought: I'm missing some hardware.

I was hoping there was a way to attach the whoopies without toggles, biners or other extras.

Your not missing any "extra" hardware at all. A toggle can be any item that will not crush with a moderate load. I use small sticks for my toggles that I find on the ground. Any size larger than a husky pencil is fine and break them to about 2-3 inches long. Remember, your not hooking around the toggle, it doesn't need to be steel or titanium.

Like Shug says, put the whoopie on the knot, not the toggle. The knot, not the toggle.

But I get what you mean. Still need to find something suitable. Might just switch over to adjustable webbing, though. I'm lazy.

+1 Just switched over my self, i like how you can neatly fold the strap with the buckle for packing!

Oh randy supplys you with toggles for the marlin spike hitch so no need to buy anything extra!

I'm still waiting for somebody to start manufacturing a JRB-style triglide with a closed triangle-loop for the whoopies. This way you would be able to permanently attach the whoopies to the tree huggers. No more folding or knotting. Just sliding the buckle into place. This would be the equivalent to the WB adjustable webbing.
