The Kalistro is out of stock on line and I susp[ect you'd be hard pressed to find it a store. I agree it is hard to beet the Skeeter Beetdr Pro for an entry level hammock.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I have to admit I'm shocked at the sudden and useful responses! Looks like I not only hit the goldmine of an informed community, but one with people who are actually happy to help! CrAZy!

I saw the Kalisto in the store - held it in my hands! - which was one reason I was tempted. That, and the fact that I wasn't finding any materials to make one myself. I did, though, after a few more calls, find some poly cloth and polypro webbing (adequate for a test run a la Risk, I thought).

The size issue is obvious - I AM 6'3" - and therefore there's no way would I bother. I'm liking the ENO Doublenest @ REI - I suppose I would fit comfortably? The stellar reviews @ REI make it hard to ignore... and I'm to assume people here love it as well?

Love my doublenest! Great hammock for the yard, campgrounds, and short hikes.

Trek Light are the same hammocks except the owner is a member here, which makes me prefer to buy his hammocks if forced to choose between the two. I mentioned ENO because REI sells them and if you are a member you have a 20% discount on any one item (except, of course, the stuff I want; GPS) until the end of the month. If there is an REI in your area it makes it really nice because then you don't have to pay shipping on top of the hammock.

correct me if I am wrong... but neither the ENO nor Treklight has an integral bugnet. So if bugs are an issue.... You'll have to do something....

True, you'd have to buy/build a bug net. There are lots of them out there; ENO & Warbonnet both sell them and I hear Trek Light is working on one too. Heck, even places like hammocks.com and swings n' things sell them these days.

I saw this in my store as well. It does not weigh 8 pounds, bt it is still a pound at least with out straps. It is more than likely an -ok- hammock and I will not bash someone who has one, but it is far easier to make your own that weighs nothing.

I'll have to check my local store. Might be a fun one to hang in the backyard.

    Guh...

I would HAVE to have an anti-bug solution - I cannot sleep with even the idea of being feasted upon by mosqs. >.<

I have no REI near me (nearest is Nashville - is a 2 hour drive worth saving the SnH? No. ; )

Therefore, I suppose Trek Light would win out. Again, though, is there nowhere local these hammocks are sold? No brick and mortar, really? -.-

    ...Wait - an SBPro for $52.95? O.O

    http://www.maarms.com/skeeterbeeter-...kh-p-1049.html

Anyone ever dealt with "MA Arms"? They do at least offer Google checkout...

Decisions... over to read some ENO vs SBP opinions, I suppose. :P

OR... even better... to the "gear for sale" forum!?
