    Cutting Zing-It

Sorry if this question is very noobish or been covered before but I searched and did not find anything.

I have Zing-It ordered to make my guy lines and was wondering about how to cut it and if there are any issues with the cuts fraying, and if so how to deal with them? Heat? Cut with a hot knife? Etc?

    Thanks!

I use a sharp pair of scissors then a little heat to bind the ends.

I've been using utility blades 'cause they're cheap. Zing-It (and Amsteel) will dull the hell out of any blade I've used so I don't want it dulling my knives.

$5 ceramic knife from Harbor Freight, it's the best thing going for cutting amsteel and zing-it.
    Good luck,

I leave my ends alone... they don't fray that bad...

Razor blade / utility knife I have never used zing it for anything where the raw end is left exposed as I either make a locked eye on the ends or back splice.

Soldering iron on the end or tuck back into itself.

Yeah I'm pretty sure 1.7 zing-it/lash-it ends won't seal up with heat, 1.1 will though but is harder to find.

Thanks for the replies! I hope it wont fray much or heat does work. If not I will need someone to point me to a "how to" for turning it in on itself?
