    New Hanger in NC

    Hello All-

Would just like to say thanks to everyone for their input on the forum. I have been gathering info over the past month here, and have a Thunderbird on the way from Papa Smurf as well as some goodies from Adam at Hammock Gear. I will say that these guys are top notch, accessible, and just plain friendly to deal with. My previous hammock experience has been an ENO DN, now wanting to kick it up a notch and put my tent away for good.

Now I also have to blame you folks for turning me into a splicing junkie- if I don't make something out of Amsteel or Zing-It once a day, I get a little shaky.

As a Cubmaster, I hope to spread the good word on hammock camping and this great community I have uncovered here at your forum. Thanks and happy hanging.

    Carl

Welcome to HF, home of the experts that rarely agree
I'm in NC, too. Lots of group hangs, there's one this weekend near Brevard. The John's Rock hang in the group campouts sub forum. May all that is DIY take hold with a mighty bite and shake you til thread and nylon scraps, and splicing fids come outta ya, then you can pick it all up and make something else

Welcome! Where in NC are you? I am in Morehead City, NC (on the coast) but have land in Wilkes County. I am an Assisitant Scoutmaster also.

    Hello

Welcome from Albemarle! New addict myself. First overnight hang planned for Sunday and I've already been window shopping for my second and third hammocks.

I am in the Winston-Salem area. I am looking for an UL Hammock already as my Thunderbird will be my cooler weather friend.

Welcome. I am also a cubmaster and part of the hammock 12 step program. I am not sure what step I am on but it sounds like you have some amsteel to work with so you may be ahead of me.

Not sure where in NC you hail from but we have a group hang in November. It should be in my signature so happy hanging and carry forth or all is clear in sector 7 or whooooo buddie as the great and powerful shug would say.
