Well, guys, the wind has died down just west of Lake Barkley and the rain quit around 4 pm. I got home about 8:15 tonight and the thermometer on my back deck reads 38*. One more little bit of rain/sleet expected around 11 pm then better, if colder weather ahead for a day or so. Hangnout is right, in that the weather should be warmer on the weekend. Thinking positive, any mud will be a bit stiffer in this temp.

Gorgeous pink, blue and white sunset over Lake Barkley as I look out the window. Local forecast calls for mid to upper 40s on Friday and mid 50s for sat, sun, mon. They are calling for 30% rain on Monday but we all know that can change.

I'll be home on Monday so if you guys need anything, MM should still have my phone. Have fun.

Turtle will call if we get in a bind...still be nice if you could hang with one one night.
From past paddles there I remember remarkable sunsets...maybe we'll enjoy a couple!
Again if any know any positive wind dances start shuffling them feet.

Guys (and gals) have fun on this trip! I've been following this for a while, but I'm not quite ready for a cold weather trip of this length. I'd love to be going though.

Here's a link to a better forecast than In-accuweather. It's for the actual LBL area. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...Type=graphical

Now that this storm system has moved out, a strong arctic high pressure is already building into the area. Winds will have laid down by the the time ya'll start on Fri AM. Tomorrow will be the start of a gradual warming trend with clear skies. Sunday will bring some clouds with a chance of showers overnight Sun into Mon. Overall the weather looks great for the trip.

    Be safe and have fun!

The kayakers are on their way home! Just happened to be driving thru LBL and there were 3 vehicles with 3 kayaks aboard. I followed them into the Golden Pond Visitors center. Yep, it was the right group. They said they had a good time. I, too, will be happy to hear their trip report.
