    Question Just in case tarp

I am looking to buy or make a very packable tarp to take on the few trips that don't really need one, just in case the weather man is wrong (we all know that never happens)
I want it to take up as little space as possible, if its DIY it does not have to last more than one or two nights.
    Any suggestions?

    Just in case tarp

Just grab some silnylon seconds. Make a small HH type. Won't weigh much at all.

You can do a poncho tarp but you will only have about 9.5" on the diagonal plus very narrow sides. 7oz should pack very small.
You could do a 7x7 or an 8x8 asym diamond as well..... Or you could go shangri la from AHE at a whooping 11 oz or the tadpole. I can tell you both will pack down to baseball size,

    Good luck

I should have mentioned my sewing sucks but for a cheap tarp I am willing to wing it, I will learn in the process.

    Thanks guys

The silnylon seconds is a great idea.

The golite at $60 is a good one as well, now making a 7x7 diamond could do the trick to, hmmm. 2 good ideas already, man I could be in for a crazy number of ideas for this. (cool)

My sewing is lousy also. I am a firm believer that wavy stitches scare bears away so I have no straight stitches anywhere. The good thing is you can make a simple rectangle so it's all straight sewing.

tadpole is pretty small, and pop up in the sale forum often.
If it moves, you can eat it. No promises you will think it tastes good.
