Back in the day, I used to camp in a nylon mesh hammock (and used an old Army ALICE pack). Life got in the way for about 40 years but now I'm easing back into it. Funny thing is that gravity seems to have increased some since then...about 50 lbs or so best I can tell. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/....gif:rolleyes: Wife used to enjoy car camping, but had never hiked or backpacked.
In the past couple of years we've been slowly collecting information, experience, and gear; mostly in that order. Have learned lots of good, useful, conflicting wisdom here on HF and have enjoyed it to no end. Have had several day hikes, but the wife gets injured easily (feet and knee issues) so we're more in a get-in-shape mode than in a hurry to rack up miles. In the past month we've bought her a HH and me a WBBB XLC and should have some Dutchware goodness arrive today or tomorrow. Have had but one hang, but as soon as we can, we'll be hitting the woods again.
Thanks to everyone for an incredible place to learn and share common interests.
