Creatures bumping into you in the night!

So, hammocks are called bear pinatas, have you ever been bothered by bears or other creatures interested in you while hanging?
I just read somewhere, that somebody had a little scare with an alligator.

I read about the gator on WhiteBlaze. The first thing I thought was "Good thing he wasn't on the ground..."

As I remember the alligator in the WB story was not under his hammock, but making it's noise a few feet away.

I think for as bad as most of us smell, animals are not going to be surprised by us hanging. I think minus things crawling on the ground, it willl be the same as a tent.

But that's what I like to tell myself when I am hearing all of the nasties going bump at night.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

I read on Whiteblaze about a dog rubbing his back under the hammock during a rain storm.

    I could have been skinkier

The closest encounter I've had was a skunk parking under me for a few minutes. Luckily he went away on his own.

I've had coons run under me but never touched me.

There's a picture on BPL of a moose standing about 10' from a hammock...the pic is from inside the hammock.

I had a doe come check me out one morning on the BR Parkway. I had the fly up high and she came under it and was sniffing me through the netting.

Hey 2XL, I prefer to think of it as a bear burrito. The only thing I ever had touch me in the middle of the night where bugs. Had a bird poop on my tarp one time in my back yard. Its supposed to be good luck to get sh** on but I didn't think it was too grand at the time.

My problem is that when I am in my backyard testing gear, my darn cat comes out and pesters me until I let him into the hammock! Of course, being a cat, he only wants to stay for exactly as long as it takes for me to fall back asleep - then he wakes me by trying to scratch holes through my HH netting....
