Quality of product is important, but on HF, it becomes personal. I wonder what's up with Brian. Health issues, work overwhelming, an unannounced break, girlfriend...wish he'd let those of us who have come to know him Internetly, "wassup?" Kind of worry about the guy...

Welcome to the forums! And congratulations on your MacCat Deluxe purchase and your pleasant buying experience.

My MacCat Deluxe is one of my all-time favorite pieces of outdoor gear. Every time I take it out of the sack, I'm impressed with it.

    I wrote this last year

"There are so many quality companies that provide an equal to superior product than OES:

    HMG
    ZPacks
    Mountain Laurel Designs
    Etc...

These companies have outstanding products and their customer services are second to none. I personally had a bad experience with Brian a while back and without going into details, would not buy from him again.

Keep your sanity --- SHOP AROUND!!!"

I am still amazed that folks enable Brian. He should be up front on his website and state that he does this very "part time", so expect delays in answering communications or producing product. The only thing that is predictable about OES is the unpredictable behavior.

OES makes top-notch tarps I assure you. My MacCat Deluxe has been the only peice of gear that has survived in my pack since I started backpacking seriously (eg: upgraded from blue tarps & byers hammocks). It's worth the wait...

I ordered a deluxe two days ago. I have a trip planned on Nov 2nd, which I will need a tarp. Should I cancel my order with OES and go to another vendor?

If I decide to cancel, how is it done?
