Figure 9's, Stingerz or Tarp Flyz??

Hi all. I like all the little gizmos and gadgets that make hammocking a science as well as a hobby. But I sometimes get confused about which thingy to get next.

For a tarp ridgeline setup, what do people prefer, figure 9's, Dutchware Stingerz, or Tarp Flyz?? Does it really matter? I like the Stingerz because the spring gate means that it might be good to hang lightweight gear from the ridgeline, and they are a bit cheaper than the tarp flyz. I'm not so concerned with weight here.

The only reason to get flyz over stingers are weight and if you need to move the fly further away from the ridge line toward the tree (maybe a large circumference tree). May not e an issue where you are or you could take a little extra line. My flyz haven't moved since I put them on my big daddy FWIW.

Edit: I like flyz/ stingers better than my knot bone figure 9. I feel like the figure 9 frays my line prematurely with those teeth

I use Dutch's tarp flyz and the continuous ridgeline setup illustrated by dejoha here. For me it is the quickest setup and allows me the easiest adjustability to center my tarp over the hammock.

Neither. I like simple a whole bunch. Less stuff for me to lose. Direct from the The Ultimate hang

    (Thanks Derek)

I switched to this method for my last couple of hangs. I use it on my tarp and find it to be simple and easy to adjust tarp with.

I do intend to try this on my tarp tie outs. These gadgets I can lose and always have more available

I've got both the Flyz and Stingerz .... and just like the ease of use and versatility of the Stingerz. Nice stuff!

Just a note, stingers are not cheaper than tarp flys. A tarp fly is $7.50 each, but sold as a pair for $15. A stinger is $9 each.

I use two stingers clipped onto 6" continuous loops which are larks headed onto each end of a Super Fly. The loop is there to hold the SnakeSkin when the tarp is up and I want to adjust the position of the tarp. I went with stingers as I have also made up a couple of 4' dogbones that I can add in series to give myself extra length.

I use one Dutch Ridgeling Biner and one Stingerz. Last night I discovered the benefit of this combo because I easily changed my tarp configuration in just a few minutes in windy conditions: unclip from one loop and then quickly to another. Went from asym to A before the rain hit.

I use a tarp fly on one end and a small metal s-biner on the other end. Very simple set-up and no knots required. I might have to grab a couple of those loop alien gizmos to try to. I love playing around with all these neat little hardware toys.

I use tarpflyz on one tarp and figure9 on the other. The Ti alien has caught my eye recently, may be trying those out.

Using Dyneema at each end of the tarp. Dutch clip around the tree. Other end back through the tarp ridge D-clip and back upon itself to a dutch flyz.

Seemed to me to offer versatility for rapidly tensioning and de-tensioning each end of ridgeline separately. Perhaps it was overkill?
