    Ridge Light

So, a while ago I had an idea for a small stuff sack that had sewable LEDs and a sewable coin battery holder with a switch sewn around the outside of it to use as an ultra light, low powered lantern that I could hang from my ridge line.

I bring you the fruits of my labor.

It's just big enough to stuff a pair of socks in. I have some 3/32" shock cord on order for the draw cord and I'll probably add a mitten hook to the draw cord to hook to the ridge line.

I use one of these and clip it to my ridgeline. They used to come with a silicone diffuser you can put on the tip for lantern mode... otherwise chapstick lids fit perfectly over the tip.

    Looks good

Post a pic of it hanging in the hammock in the dark when your done

I use a NiteIze BugLite Clips to the ridgeline, packs up inside the hammock, so it's always there.

The problem is, it's got 3 modes (new ones have 4) : Retina Burning, Blinding, and Disco (flashing)

It's nice for when I have to leave the hammock to pee, or investigate something, but used inside a hammock in the dark, it's just to bright. My hiking partner swears he can read by the light of my glowing hammock
