Introducing Sheltowee Hammock Co. ~insulated hammocks

    Hello!

I have been a long time fan of the forums and am glad to finally introduce myself, and my new start-up, Sheltowee Hammock Company (that's shell~toe~eeeee)!! I look forward to shedding light on your questions about any of my products, which can be found at www.sheltoweehammockcompany.com

like I said, I am still in start-up mode, and hope to introduce my 40° hammock called the 'Boone' next month, as well as my 'Palisade Rain Fly'. I currently have these products up with their description and specs on my site, above.

I hope to also continue to have more products released soon after, including overcovers (both solid fabric and no-see-um) which I'm calling 'toppers' at the moment, as well as a "Shell" hammock, without insulation, perfect for hot muggy/buggy nights.

    Thank you for your interest!

Looks interesting. Can you go into more detail about how you vent it? Maybe some pictures

sure... these two pictures represent a couple different ways you can vent.

the key to the whole system working is that the insulation layer is longer than that of the hammock bed. So the hammock body swings freely from the insulation, which you cinch to your backside, much like a traditional UQ.

    Good luck with it

The modular system works so well because you can change your quilts to suit the season, looking forward to hearing the reviews of the all-in-one.

My only ever DIY hammock attempt was an all-in-one using Primaloft as sewn in insulation, it worked okay but wasn't as warm as I hoped it would be.

Judging by the pics it looks like its a retagular tarp.

    Good luck with your venture!
