    The proper tarp length!

I have a situation that requires your professionalism.....My hammock is 10'6" long... what is the minimum ridgeline lenth for a tarp that I should get? I like the superfly, and even though it has doors, im not convinced the 11 foot ridgeline will be adequate. I saw the oldman winter one that has a 12' RL, with doors as well but thats about 55 dollars more. Is there any company that makes a 13 or 14 foot RL stock tarp with doors for the 130-185 dollar price range?

Not sure about the 13' or 14' ridgelines, but I have the SuperFly, and use it with my 11' hammocks with no problems. With your hammock and a tarp with an 11' ridge, and assuming an 83% hang angle, you would have about 27" to center your hammock with. That's almost 14" a side. Not a lot, but enough. I also have a WL Tadpole that has the 144" ridgeline. The SF almost looks longer than the Tadpole, but I think that has to do with the doors on the SF......RR

I believe people are having success with the Superfly/XLC combo, and the XLC is an 11' hammock. My tarp is a Mamajamba which is basically a Superfly without doors, and it provides sufficient cover for my XLC.

I use a standard 11 foot HG cuben tarp with doors over my WBBB XLC and WL Lite Owl 11 foot hammocks. No problems whatsoever.

The length of the hammock on it's own matters less than the ridge line length of the hammock. Remember that you won't be hanging the hammock strait but with a good bit of sag. A 11' hammock body will hang at a length closer to 9 feet long. So an 11 foot ridge length on the tarp gives plenty of coverage.
