marlin spike hitch tied with two lines?

I use 1.5" seatbelt polyester straps with a loop in one end. I usually make a wrap around the tree and feed the strap through its loop, like the example on the left in the attached photo.

In order to make it around a very large oak tree today, I joined two straps by their loops. I made a wrap around the tree and tied a MSH using both ends of the strap. This formed a large loop around the tree, like the example on the right.

Aside from the greater risk of the strap slipping down the tree, does this method seem less secure/safe? Seemed to hold me fine for an hour-long nap. I wondered if the change would put greater/different stress on the MSH or straps.

Looks fine to me. The only thing I'd be looking at is whether the angle of the webbing coming together at the knot would tend to push the cord loop up over the knot and onto the toggle (because the loop has to stay put over a wider space due to the two straps angling away from the knot). If that's covered I'd have no concerns about it.

Thanks, Grizz! Your seal of approval gives me great confidence in this abnormal setup.

My whoopies nestle snugly behind the MSHs--no risk of them jumping onto the toggle.

In essence it looks like a marlin on a bight, so as long as they can't slip past each other then it should be more structural then a single.
