    Ucr ?

I just finished making my first UCR with Dynaglide. I measured 12" for the constrictor but when I finished the UCR the constrictor was only 10" in length. Is this normal? Will 10" be long enough or should I remake it to end up with a 12" constrictor?
    Thanks

I think 10 inches will be fine. It's shorter because when you bury the line inside, the outer line bunches up to make room for it.

That is normal..The bury shrinks because the rope diameter expands.

It's usually around 15% "shrinkage". So if you bury line through 10 inches the resulting "bury" will be about 8.5 inches long. If you HAVE the have 10 inches inside then mark entry and exit 11.75 inches apart. Since you are expanding the outer "sheath", it has to get shorter, the inside line stays the same. .

With Dynaglide you do not need a long bury like amsteel If I'm not mistaken you only need 8" with Dynaglide for the constrictor. I doesn't hurt though to make it longer. here is a great link on UCR's https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=70043
