I was wondering if taking out the thick cord on GT hammocks and swapping them out for lighter and more importantly thinner cord like whoopee slings will ware through the stitched channel faster?
I'm sure this seems like a noob question but I have never done it and can't seem to find any mention of this sort of thing happening.
Should I be concerned?
I would like to try it on a nano 7 and a UL travel
The whoopies do fine as a replacement. Important that you cinch them down fully to recompress the hammock ends. There is little friction once this is done and you wont have an issue.
I usually do 2 passes thru the channel with the whoopie, and then larkshead.

I used a piece of amsteel and whipped the ends first. Then the whoopies has some mass to lay on.
